There are many reasons why women may encounter difficulties at work. Often women tend to be the main carers for children and sometimes for elderly people and this can cause conflicts with responsibilities at work.
It can difficult to discuss health problems in a male dominated environment and lack of confidentiality can be a problem. If you tell your manager about a health or pregnancy related problem you have a right to expect that your manager will maintain complete confidentiality. If this does not happen we will take the matter up on your behalf.
Pregnancy related absences should not count towards poor performance and attendance procedures. If you find yourself in any difficulty with your employment as a result of pregnancy related absences contact a branch officer immediately.
