As the Union for workers in the UK telecommunications and information services industry the CWU is committed to recruiting, organising and representing the telecoms and information services workforce.
A new campaign was launched on 8 April 2013 which aims to highlight the threat an autumn Royal Mail sell off will place on postal services throughout the UK. The Save Our Royal Mail campaign represents a broad coalition of organisations which are concerned about the effect privatisation could have on the postal service.
As a result of the CWU’s successful Agency Action Day Jim Mcgovern, Labour MP Dundee West, has laid down an Early Day Motion (EDM).
This campaign is born out of the success of the CWU's long-running 'Euro-trashed' campaign, seeking equal treatment for agency workers. This culminated in the implementation of the EU's Temporary Agency Workers Directive (TAWD) in UK law in 2011.
