CWU Annual Conference takes place for five days each year in either May or June and is the parliament of the Union.
Two of the days are spent discussing issues that are appropriate to the whole Union, conference is then divided into sectional and industrial groupings for the remaining three days. All CWU members are entitled to attend Conference. Visitors, who are members of the union, may gain admission to the observers area by showing their membership card.

Andy Kerr, CWU Deputy General Secretary (Telecoms), opened Telecom and Financial Services conference with a speech covering the major issues and achievements in companies where CWU has members.
CWU president, Davie Bowman, told delegates that "organising and recruitment must be at the heart of everything we do," as he opened General Conference.
A Rules Revision conference is usually held every four years, with a rules revision session on the agenda at each Annual Conference. Under this procedure there would not normally have been a Rules Revision conference until 2012, but the NEC decided this year’s conference was a necessary step in making much needed changes in structure to protect the future of the union.
Each of the CWU Advisory Committees holds an annual conference.
