BT Fleet has issued a briefing stating that there are discussions taking place with the CWU around closures within the Fleet workshop network, reductions within the Fleet Management Centre and the difficulties facing the site at Trinity Park, where there is a lease break in 2012.
The discussions are difficult and likely to take some time. At this stage all branches and members should be clear that the CWU has not indicated any support for the company’s position. The CWU will meeting representatives from branches with members in BT Fleet to discuss thiese issues soon.
We understand that this is a frustrating and upsetting time for our BT Fleet members but the union can not comment further until we fully understand the position being put to us and have been able to comprehensively question the company on their position.
