BT Retail Business: Work Force Management

5 February 2010

A number of branches have contacted CWU Head Office regading significant problems with the implementation of Work Force Management (WFM) as a replacement for Vacation Planner.

The issues range from the unavailability of leave, to notice periods for booking leave and the system not being able to handle RDOs with 9 day fortnights. There is also an issue with the placement of lunch breaks at one end of a shift to remove a DSE Break.

The union has been in dialogue with Gill Paterson who is responsible for the implementation in BT Retail Business and she has committed to resolve specific problems where it is possible within the system.

The issues are either being resolved or can be resolved via the line manager discretion to do over rides.

In respect of the lunch break at one end of the shift this is more difficult to resolve. The union is looking at the appropriate method to resolve this issue.

If members have a specific issue with the operation of WFM plese contact any branch offcie.
